New Fire Station Opens in West Bexar County

As reported in the San Antonio Express-News, a new fire station in west Bexar County was opened on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Residents in the area say it will provide some much needed fire protection to the area near the 18000 block of Bandera Road, about 5 miles outside the Helotes city limits. »

Imagine my surprise when, at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, Helotes Police Officers completely blocked traffic going both ways on Bandera Road (Hwy. 16) at Circle A Trail. I was waiting at the red light, when several police cars pulled up and blocked the entire intersection. »
