A History-Filled Evening with a Former Texas Ranger
Former Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson came to Helotes recently at the invitation of the Helotes Historical Society, and everyone was invited to hear what he had to say. He is a noted award winning author, historian, and storyteller.
Former Helotes Police Chief Fritz Bohne introduced Jackson with stories of their past joint law enforcement activities, Bohne having been an FBI Agent for many years.
Jackson has written two books: One Ranger: A Memoir and One Ranger: Returns. He related many colorful and sometimes humorous stories from his 27 years as a Texas Ranger. For more information about Jackson, visit www.oneranger.org.
After his well-attended presentation and answering many questions from the audience, Ranger Jackson autographed his books.
The Helotes Historical Society is planning to have more of these popular author-style events in the future as fundraisers to benefit the society’s projects, special events, tours, awards, and recognitions.
