Operation Homecooking
Thanks to the generosity of Operation Homecooking participants, Air Force basic trainees and technical school students will get the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving Day with caring families in the San Antonio-area. Last year, local residents hosted 4,295 Air Force members or trainees on Thanksgiving Day.
Some of the requirements are: trainees must be back at their squadron by 7 p.m., only two trainees will accompany each sponsor, and trainees must remain within a 30-mile radius of Lackland AFB, unless prior approval has been obtained.
