UPDATE:  Last Wednesday, July 1, 2009, the City of San Antonio Conservation Advisory Board voted to assist the City of Grey Forest by purchasing a conservation easement.  Grey Forest is accepting donations, which can be sent to: City of Grey Forest Green Space, 18502 Scenic Loop Road, Helotes, TX  78023.  If you have any questions, Grey Forest City Council member Jen Nottingham can still be contacted at the email address and/or telephone number listed below.

———————————————————————————

The City of Grey Forest has accepted the Texas Parks and Wildlife Madla Memorial Park matching grant in the amount of $1.125 million.  They have started the process of identifying property and are moving forward.

The City has set up an account to accept monetary donations for land acquisition.  They have 2 weeks to meet the requirements of the state to qualify for this grant.

They are also accepting “in-kind” contributions, such as, materials, equipment, construction, volunteer manhours, etc.

If you have any questions or would like to make a donation, either monetary or in-kind, please contact Jennifer Nottingham, Grey Forest City Council member, at jennottingham@satx.rr.com or 210-695-1554 #4.
