Parks and Recreation Committee Agenda for July 29, 2009
The Helotes Parks and Recreation Committee members are: Scott Muenz, Chair; Phyllis Jackson, Vice Chair; Linda Montemayor, Secretary; Bert Buys; Maria McCarns; Donny Jones; and Megan Mutschler. They will meet this coming Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Their agenda is as follows.
Discussion of and action on:
Reappointed and appointed committee member responsibilities and duties, to include oath of office and open meeting and open record training.
Election of officers.
A recommendation to City Council for the creation of a 9-hole disc golf course in the Helotes Natural Area at FM 1560 and Parrigin Road.
A budget request to be submitted to Council and the scheduling of event dates, times, and Committee assignments and duties for the annual Easter egg hunt, Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Christmas night parade in Old Town Helotes, Helotes volunteer day, and the MarketPlace at Old Town Helotes.
A recommendation to be submitted to City Council for signage, including appropriate design and wording, for the Helotes City Park Playground and the Helotes Natural Area.
The “Fill the Tree” fundraiser.
A recommendation to Council for a 30th anniversary celebration in August 2011.
