Zumbox Alternative Mail System Being Used by the City
(Information below provided by the City of Helotes Community Newsletter for June-July 2009.)
In case you didn’t get or didn’t take time to read the current Helotes Community Newsletter, the City, in an attempt to lower costs and help the environment, will be utilizing a paperless postal system to mail out quarterly newsletters and provide additional information to residents.
At this time, the newsletter will continue to be mailed in paper form, but they hope that residents with internet capability will opt for the paperless system. Let the City staff know (695-8877) if you would like to discontinue paper newsletters to your residence.
This new postal system is called Zumbox, and it can be accessed free of charge by anyone with a physical address in Helotes. You can access your Zumbox account by signing up for an account at http://beta.zumbox.com. Zumbox will send you a security code via traditional mail. Thereafter, you will be able to utilize your Zumbox account.
Receiving mail via Zumbox is free for all Helotes residents, and the City can send free outgoing mail. They hope to use Zumbox not only for the newsletter but also for breaking news, alerts, community event notices, and possibly emergencies.
