Saturday, May 15, 2010
By Kathy Smith

At the May 13, 2010, City Council meeting, it was announced that Ed Villanueva had won his bid for re-election to his seat on Council.  He had been opposed by Myfe Moore.  Villanueva received 463 votes, and Ms. Moore received 171.  Villanueva was sworn in by the Mayor, as were David Legendre, Cynthia Massey, and Gary Johnson, all of whom had been unopposed.

Gary Johnson had been appointed to Place 3 in May 2009, when the newly re-elected Jeff Ellis resigned after being arrested for the sexual assault of a minor.  Since Johnson had not been elected to the position, he had to run for the position in 2010.  He also ran unopposed.
