What’s the EDC Up to This Month (UPDATED 12/15/09)
The Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at City Hall. (WELL, APPARENTLY NOT. THE DECEMBER EDC MEETING WAS CANCELLED WITH VERY SHORT NOTICE, OR, AS THEY PUT IT, POSTPONED UNTIL JANUARY 2010, WHICH IS THE SAME THING, RIGHT? NO REASON GIVEN.)
AGENDA ITEMS:
Discussion and appropriate action regarding Old Town Helotes Special District Master Plan – Phase One capital improvement projects, including, but not limited to, project management and funding, design, engineering, and construction of said improvements.
Discussion and appropriate action regarding funding, design, engineering, and construction of water and sewer lines along the east side of Highway 16 (Bandera Road) from Cedar Trail (the entrance to Cedar Springs) to Scenic Loop Road.
Discussion regarding an application to the Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program (STEP).
Discussion and appropriate action regarding appointing Lani Cabico as a replacement for Director Keith Muhlestein.
(UPDATE on above agenda item 12/15/09: I contacted City staff and the EDC Executive Director, Rick Schroder, asking for a copy of Keith Muhlestein’s resignation from the EDC and a copy of Lani Cabico’s application to serve on the EDC. Neither Schroder nor City staff had those documents, and Schroder confirmed that this agenda item is for the discussion and appropriate action on replacing a director who has not resigned with a person who has not applied to serve on the EDC. What I suspect is that Muhlestein has missed some meetings due to his work, and they are wanting to remove him from the Board. Why Lani Cabico has not submitted an application, I have no idea.)
Discussion and appropriate action regarding selecting a firm to design and print the Helotes brochure map.
