			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>UPDATE</strong>:  Last Wednesday, July 1, 2009, the City of San Antonio Conservation Advisory Board voted to assist the City of Grey Forest by purchasing a conservation easement.  Grey Forest is accepting donations, which can be sent to: City of Grey Forest Green Space, 18502 Scenic Loop Road, Helotes, TX  78023.  If you have any questions, Grey Forest City Council member Jen Nottingham can still be contacted at the email address and/or telephone number listed below.</p>

<p>The City of Grey Forest has accepted the Texas Parks and Wildlife Madla Memorial Park matching grant in the amount of $1.125 million.  They have started the process of identifying property and are moving forward. </p>
<p>The City has set up an account to accept monetary donations for land acquisition.  They have 2 weeks to meet the requirements of the state to qualify for this grant.</p>
<p>They are also accepting &#8220;in-kind&#8221; contributions, such as, materials, equipment, construction, volunteer manhours, etc.</p>

<p>As of June 26, 2009, the Helotes-Grey Forest Farmers Market has relocated to the Helotes Hills United Methodist Church at 13222 Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas.  It was previously held across from the Grey Forest City Hall.</p>
<p>The market is held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 3 to 6 p.m.  The last one this year will be on November 13, 2009.</p>
<p>It is open to the public offering fresh vegetables, peaches, local pecans, honey, eggs, brick-oven baked bread, plants, canned fruits and vegetables, beef, chickens, other fresh seasonal products, and eco-friendly market bags.</p>
<p>The market is a member of the Hill Country Farmers Market Association, and all the products sold are local, fresh, and high quality.</p>
